Agenda Austria Tätigkeitsbericht 2025

Austria does not have a problem with insight. Austria has a problem with implementation. It has been clear for years where reform is needed: in subsidies, pensions, bureaucracy, federalism, administration and all those other things that people would rather talk about than change.

Agenda Austria’s 2025 Activity Report translates this uncomfortable finding into a tangible object: an austerity package in the literal sense. A box of tools for the necessary turnaround. A tape measure, a red pen, plasters, an eraser and a 1-cent coin. Each item fulfils a specific purpose: to check, to cut, to persevere, to correct. And to remind us that every single contribution really does count.

An information leaflet explains the method of use, indications, side effects and dosage. Because reforms only work once they are implemented. The actual activity report follows the same logic: cost-optimised, black and white, without embellishment.

This turns an annual report into an argument: anyone discussing public spending should also demonstrate in their own communications that less is sometimes simply less. And that’s a good thing.
