Learning to learn.
Neue Schule
Neue Schule
Some projects are personal. This one is particularly so. Because it addresses a question that becomes all the more pressing the more uncertain the world seems: what do children really need, not just to get by, but to find their own way?
ย
Since 2004, the Neue Schule Eichgraben has been supporting children up to Year 8. It is a concrete response to a present-day world that demands so much of children: sensory overload, pressure to perform, digital overload, a lack of direction. Here, children learn more than just the curriculum. They learn how learning works. They take on responsibility. They experience a sense of community. They develop confidence in their own path.
What does such a place look like? How does it communicate its message โ to parents, to local communities, to people who need to understand why this matters?
Open, but not haphazard. Clear, but not cold. Professional, without resorting to the language of institutions that administer education rather than facilitate it.
The branding makes it clear what the school stands for. It provides guidance for parents. It helps local communities, businesses and individuals who wish to support the school to recognise why a good education is not a private matter. And it strengthens a team that works every day to encourage children to aspire to more than simply conforming.
This brings into focus what the Neue Schule means for Eichgraben and the region: a place where the future is not merely explained, but learnt.
