Together again.

Wiener Festwochen 2022

After two pandemic years, the Wiener Festwochen 2022 could take place again in its usual form. The artistic direction is concerned with a "dialogue between the generations". Creating accessibility without making artistic compromises. Experiment is the tradition.

The Wiener Festwochen want to appear warm and inviting, but also self-confident and striking. Connecting and providing orientation. In contrast to last year's 21, the 22 is closed again, it comes together again. But on closer inspection it looks a bit scratched, which is due to the fact that it was created in analogue form, i.e. in its original version it was made by hand. First it was put on paper, then crumpled up, then smoothed out again. This leaves traces that can and should be followed (through the city).

The act of recreation here is also an invitation to dialogue. It is individuality and character that make cooperation possible and constitute what is called society.
